Silver Fern Farms is an essential service

"Posted" 25/03/2020

To all Silver Fern Farms shareholders,

I write regarding the Government’s announcement of significant measures to control the spread of Covid-19 within our communities, and what that means for Silver Fern Farms Co-operative and our investment Silver Fern Farms.

I want to reassure you that our investment Silver Fern Farms Ltd is continuing its business operations as it has been classified as an ‘essential service’ able to operate at alert level 4. This is because the primary industries, including food and beverage production and processing are classed as a key public service.

There is no doubt that Covid 19 will impact us all over the coming weeks and months, but the continued operation of essential services will help New Zealand ride out the storm and bounce back after it has abated.

From the Co-operative’s point of view, we are supportive of the actions Silver Fern Farms are taking to ensure continued operations. Silver Fern Farms’ role at this time is an important one, and I can assure you that the team are doing everything they can to make sure we continue to trade safely, while supporting the wellbeing and livelihoods of all those within and beyond the business.

We will keep shareholders informed of any material changes at the Co-operative that may impact them over the coming weeks. Any important announcements will be posted on our website (silverfernfarms.coop) and on the USX exchange.

Please stay safe.

Together Stronger
