Tony O’Boyle re-appointed to Board

Tony O’Boyle has been re-appointed unopposed to the Silver Fern Farms Co-operative Board.

Chairman Rob Hewett said he was pleased with Tony O’Boyle’s re-appointment.

“This outcome provides good continuity for our co-operative. Tony has shown over his first term on the Board that he is a very capable, diligent and thoughtful contributor to our Co-operative’s Board. His un-opposed re-appointment gives the Board confidence we have on-going shareholder support for our direction.”

Director Tony O’Boyle was first elected to the board in December 2015.

The 2018 Annual Meeting will be held in Dunedin on 1 May 2019. The record date for voting will be 29 March 2019.

Nominations are now open for one farmer elected Board position on the Silver Fern Farms Co-operative Board. Tony O’Boyle retires by rotation at the Company’s 2018 Annual Meeting. Tony O’Boyle has advised he will seek re-election.
Positive Result and Patronage Reward Declared
Silver Fern Farms Co-operative has reported a net profit before tax of $2.4m for the 2018 financial year. The after-tax result for the period was a net profit of $0.9m. This reversed an after-tax loss of $5.6m in 2017 – albeit that result was over a 15-month period which included losses from discontinued operations.
Shareholders Approve Amendments To Constitution
A strong majority of 92% of votes have been cast in favour of amendments to Silver Fern Farms Co-operative’s constitution.
