  • Co-operative Calls For Board Appointed Farmer Director
    Dunedin Tuesday 31st May 2022: Applications for Silver Fern Farms Co-operative’s next Board Appointed Farmer Director have opened. Silver Fern Farms Co-operative Chairman Rob Hewett said the new role opens up a directorship opportunity on the Co-operative Board which assists in ensuring constructive rejuvenation of its governors.
  • Nominations open for Co-operative Farmer Elected Director
    Dunedin Friday 4 February 2022: Applications for Silver Fern Farms Co-operative’s next Farmer Elected Director are now open. One space will become available on the Board, as incumbent Tony O’Boyle retires by rotation at the Co-operative’s Annual Meeting in May and is not seeking re-election.
  • New Silver Fern Farms Co-operative Board Appointment: Anna Nelson
    King Country farmer Anna Nelson has today been announced as a new Board-appointed Farmer Director to the Silver Fern Farms Co-operative. Anna runs a 1450ha breeding and finishing block in Aria with husband Blair (Munta), and in-laws Jon and Kaye Nelson. Anna has three teenage children.

    At the Co-operative’s Annual Meeting on 29 April, Richard Young announced that he was standing down as Co-operative Chair to facilitate transition to the next generation of Silver Fern Farms Co-operative leaders.

  • Directors Returned to Silver Fern Farms Co-operative Board
    Dunedin 29 April 2021: Rob Hewett, Co-Chair of Silver Fern Farms Limited has been re-elected to the Silver Fern Farms Co-operative Limited’s Board of Directors. Gabrielle Thompson, who was a Board Appointed Director, has also been elected to the Co-operative Board by farmer shareholders.

  • Positive Result and Patronage Reward Declared
    Silver Fern Farms Co-operative has reported a net profit before tax of $2.4m for the 2018 financial year. The after-tax result for the period was a net profit of $0.9m. This reversed an after-tax loss of $5.6m in 2017 – albeit that result was over a 15-month period which included losses from discontinued operations.

    Silver Fern Farms has reported a net operating loss before tax and impairment of $7.5m million for the 12 months ended September 2016 on income of $2.2 billion. This compares to a net operating profit of $30.8m and income of $2.5 billion the prior year.

  • Redemption of Supplier Investment Shares
    Following completion of Shanghai Maling Aquarius Co., Ltd’s investment in Silver Fern Farms Limited and the distribution to the Co-operative of $57million from that process, the Board of the Co-operative has resolved to progress the redemption of the 5,371,732 Supplier Investment Shares issued by the Co-operative.
